This is a vast land that is particular due to the presence of tuffaceous rocks, on which both inhabited centers and medieval villages have been built
At the center of this area there is Pitigliano, built on a massive tuff rock, in which are present several paths carved into the same rock . Pitigliano is also known as the Little Jerusalem, given the presence of several buildings of Jewish origin
Near Pitigliano are the medieval village of Sorano, named as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy together with Montemerano, and the Etruscan center of Sovana, small in size but with buildings of particular artistic beauty
On the road that connects Podere Capraia to the Tufo area, it is possible to stop at the Terme di Saturnia (Cascate del Mulino) famous in the world for the naturalistic context in which they are inserted.
