Monte Amiata
The precious peak of Tuscany
Mount Amiata, with its 1736 meters, is the highest peak in the Tuscan Maremma.
Its land extends for several kilometers and includes a vast area of chestnut, fir and beech forests of naturalistic and landscape interest, in which live a rich fauna
There are also two important Provincial Nature Reserves (Monte Labro and Monte Penna) where it is possible to follow trekking paths or take part in guided tours. During the winter season Monte Amiata is a ski resort.
There are also several historic centers (Arcidosso, Castel del Piano, Seggiano, Santa Fiora just to name a few) which in all seasons offer tourists various cultural ideas as well as initiatives related to traditions
