Massa Marittima
A village on the Metaliffere Hills
On the route that leads from Cinigiano to Massa Marittima there are the two medieval towns of Roccastrada and Roccatederighi, particular for their alleys that are part of the volcanic rocks on which they were built.
Not far from Massa Marittima, a charming town full of artistic evidences. In the center of the city in Piazza Garibaldi, considered one of the most beautiful squares in Tuscany with several medieval buildings, there is the beautiful Cathedral, an example of Romanesque-Gothic architecture
Returning to Cinigiano, before heading towards Follonica, it is possible to stop in Gavorrano, a quiet village surrounded by several hectares of Mediterranean scrub, chestnut groves and vineyards, evidence of a past of intense mining activity.
On the coast Follonica is a town with a strong tourist tradition that satisfies the holiday demands of both families and young people.
